Arts Administrator + Multidisciplinary Practitioner + Community Organizer + Public Art Facilitator + Public Programming Curator

I am a third-generation Mexican-American born and raised in Brighton Park, a community on Chicago’s southwest side. My family history runs deep in Chicago's communities having parents hailing from Taylor Street, Pilsen and LeClaire Courts in Archer Heights.

I currently live in Gary, Indiana with my partner, Phil and my two dogs - Chip and Sam.

My practice works at the intersections of art and community engagement. I've served as a resource to policymakers and have engaged in public dialogue about issues that impact artists, creative enterprises, public art discourse, and cultural organizing strategies. Having become a resource to policymakers and helping to engage in the public dialogue about issues that impact artists and creative enterprises, I've worked hard to bring the arts to a broader audience and bridge cultural sector programming within Chicago’s diverse arts community.

In bringing the arts to a broader audience my previous work and civic experience includes the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events at the City of Chicago, Ed Paschke Art Center, Chicago Loop Alliance, Mana Contemporary, ElevArte Community Studio, 2012 Chicago Cultural Plan, Chicago Community Trust, Accelerate Culture Chicago, Art Alliance Illinois, Neubauer Collegium for Culture and Art at UChicago.

Former gallery director of 32nd&urban, an alternative visual art exhibition space in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood and co-founder of the Chicago Urban Art Society and Chicago Lowrider Festival.

Northwestern University, MS, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, MA, University of Illinois at Chicago, BSW, Chicago City Colleges, AA, Whitney M. Young High School (Chicago, IL)
